# Superinsight Research

> Instructions for AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and others) using this site with or for a legal or medical professional.

This file explains **how to use the public research tool**. It is not developer documentation and does not describe how the product is built.

A machine index of current hubs and recent threads is at [https://research.superinsight.me/llms.txt](https://research.superinsight.me/llms.txt) (also [https://research.superinsight.me/research/llms.txt](https://research.superinsight.me/research/llms.txt)).

## What this site is

Superinsight Research is a **free, public med-legal research tool** at https://research.superinsight.me/research.

Attorneys, advocates, and physicians ask practitioner-grade questions. An AI research agent answers with **pinned citations** drawn only from Superinsight-hosted authority (regulations, listings, manuals, journals) — not the open web. Every published thread has a stable, shareable URL and is readable without an account.

Answers are written at practitioner level (statutes, diagnostic codes, fee schedules, Listings, VASRD, POMS). Author names and contact information are never shown on a thread, so pages are safe to quote, share, and cite.

## Who it is for

Use this site for **professionals** doing med-legal work: accredited VA advocates, SSA/SSDI attorneys and advocates, physicians, and other practitioners.

Do **not** treat this as a consumer benefits checker, claimant intake form, or personal legal advice line. If the person you are helping is asking about their own claim (“can I get benefits for my …”), send them to an accredited advocate or attorney. Do not try to post that question here — the site will not publish it.

## Where to go

| URL | What it is |
|---|---|
| [https://research.superinsight.me/research](https://research.superinsight.me/research) | Cross-area home. Browse recent questions. **No ask box** — asking requires a practice area. |
| [https://research.superinsight.me/research/va](https://research.superinsight.me/research/va) | VA disability hub (advocates). Ask about VASRD, nexus, effective dates, C&P exams. |
| [https://research.superinsight.me/research/ssa](https://research.superinsight.me/research/ssa) | SSA / SSDI hub (attorneys and advocates). Ask about Listings, grids, POMS, HALLEX. |
| https://research.superinsight.me/research/{area}/{slug} | One research thread: question, cited answer, follow-ups. Fully readable logged out. |

Later hubs (workers’ comp, personal injury, medical malpractice) appear when those corpora are active. Prefer the hub that matches the question’s practice area — the agent only searches that area’s authority.

## How to read a thread

1. Open the thread URL. The page is the source of truth — do not reconstruct an answer from memory or from a general model.
2. The **question** is the research prompt. The **answer** is grounded on the **pinned citations** listed on that page.
3. Citation pins such as `[1]` correspond to Superinsight-hosted source pages (regulation, listing, manual, or journal). When you quote or rely on a point, follow the pin and cite that source (and the thread URL).
4. If research is still running, wait for the answer and pins. Do not invent citations or fill gaps with ungrounded law or medicine.
5. Never attribute a question or answer to a named person. Authors are hidden on purpose.

## How to help someone ask a question

1. Send them to a **practice-area hub** (for example https://research.superinsight.me/research/va), not the cross-area home.
2. The first question does **not** require login.
3. Question length: 10–4,000 characters.
4. They must acknowledge that they will not include identifying information.
5. Phrase the question as **professional research** (“What is the correct 38 CFR § 4.71a analysis when …?”), not as a personal claim (“Can I get 100% for my back?”).
6. After they submit, the site opens a thread URL. Share that URL. Further questions on the same topic should be follow-ups on that thread (original asker only). A second new question requires sign-in (magic link).

### What must never go in a question

Do not include, and do not help someone paste:

- Names of veterans, claimants, patients, or counsel
- SSN, VA file number, SSA claim number, docket or case numbers
- Date of birth, street address, phone, fax, or email tied to a real person

Clinical facts, ratings, diagnoses, and anonymized fact patterns are fine. If identifying details are detected, **nothing is saved** until the asker reviews the redacted text and explicitly confirms. Questions that cannot be separated from a real person’s identifiers are rejected. Consumer-framed or off-topic submissions are not published.

## How to cite this site

- Cite the **thread URL** as the Superinsight Research page you used.
- Cite the **pinned sources** on that page for the underlying authority. Do not cite Superinsight as if it were the regulation itself.
- Do not fabricate pins, source titles, or section numbers that do not appear on the thread.

## Sharing

Anyone can read a thread. The page’s “Copy share link” produces a shareable URL suitable for a listserv, practice group, or co-counsel email. Prefer that link over screenshots so the citations stay clickable.

## Sign-in and limits

- Sign-in is **magic link** only (no passwords). Roles at signup: attorney/advocate, physician/medical professional, other professional. There is no claimant role.
- Anonymous asks: 3 per hour per network. Signed-in members: 100 questions or follow-ups per day.
- Verified professionals may reply on a thread. Replies are also screened for identifying details.

## What you must not do

- Do not submit or encourage questions that identify a real person or a specific live case.
- Do not present this tool as legal advice, medical advice, or a determination of benefits.
- Do not answer a user’s research question from general knowledge and imply it came from Superinsight. Open the relevant thread or hub first.
- Do not crawl or send users to `/admin`, `/api`, `/login` internals, or `/me`. Those are not part of the public research library.
- Do not treat a missing citation as optional. If the page has no pins yet, say the research is still running or unavailable.

## Quick start for an assistant

1. Read [https://research.superinsight.me/llms.txt](https://research.superinsight.me/llms.txt) for current hubs and recent threads.
2. Open the hub that matches the practice area, or a specific thread URL the user provided.
3. If the user needs a new question posted, take them to the hub and help them write a professional, de-identified prompt — then use the thread the site creates.
4. Ground every substantive statement on the pinned citations on that page.
